Timothy A. Munjar, DVM
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons


Dr. Munjar was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He graduated from the combined program at Oregon State University and Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Following graduation, he completed a small animal clinical internship at Colorado State University and a 3 year surgical residency at Purdue University. In 1999, he obtained his board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgery. Dr. Munjar moved back to Oregon and established the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland in 2000.

Dr. Munjar's special interests include general orthopedics and fracture management. His main focus is on total joint replacement, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy and joint arthroscopy. Dr. Munjar and his surgical team were invited to present lectures and perform the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy surgery at the National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital in 2005. Dr. Munjar is a Board of Directors member for the Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital.

Dr. Munjar lives in Banks, Oregon with his wife, three sons, two daughters and multiple family pets. In his spare time, he enjoys family life, traveling, fishing, camping and snow skiing.

Amelia M. Simpson, DVM
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons

Dr. Simpson received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998, followed by a general internship at Kansas State University and a surgical internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Surgery in Houston, Texas. She then completed a surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Simpson became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 2004. After working in a specialty referral practice in Virginia, she joined the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Teaching Hospital as a clinical instructor and surgeon.

Dr. Simpson's primary interests are with soft tissue surgery including: thoracic and abdominal surgery, thoracoscopy, oncology surgery, tracheal collapse, portosystemic shunts, and reconstruction. She also enjoys neurosurgery for disc herniation and general orthopedics, including tibial plateau leveling osteotomy, medial patella luxation reconstruction, arthroscopy, and complex fractures.

Dr. Simpson moved to Oregon in 2007. She is currently living in downtown Portland with her wonderful dog Miles and her two crazy cats Elliot and Oakley. In her spare time enjoys trail running, mountain biking, camping, hiking and snow boarding.


Christine Seekamp-Munjar, DVM
Hospital Director


Dr. Seekamp-Munjar graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She worked as a small animal practitioner until opening the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland with her husband Tim Munjar. They share their home in Banks with their five children.
Lisa Muma, CVT
Head Technician

Lisa has worked in veterinary medicine since 1997 and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2002. She has been with the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland since it opened in 2000. When not working with animals, Lisa enjoys hiking, riding her motorcycle and working in the yard. Lisa shares her home with her family and their dogs Tony and Vinnie.

Kerri Blaney, CVT

Kerri is a 2005 graduate of the accredited Veterinary Technician program at Portland Community College. Prior to joining the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland in May of 2007, Kerri worked in canine physical therapy for 2 years. She is currently working towards gaining her certification in canine physical therapy through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. When Kerri is not working with dogs she is involved with the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon, which is a nonprofit, mobile spay/neuter program for feral, stray and barn cats. Outside of work Kerri enjoys spending time outdoors. Kerri shares her home with her husband Vince and their son Liam, two dogs and two cats.
Jessica Lindsey, CVT

Jessica is the latest addition to the VSCP family. She started working as a veterinary technician in Baltimore, Maryland in 2003 gaining her experience in emergency and critical care. She has a Bachelors Degree in Animal Behavior from Towson University. When not working with animals she enjoys competitive ballroom dancing, hiking and yoga. Jessica shares her home with her cat Rajah and two dogs.

Candyce Driggs, CVT

Born and raised in Portland, Candyce graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Apollo College with a 4.0 GPA. It was always her dream to work with animals and in April of 2009 she completed her technician certification. She joined the VSCP team in June of 2009. When Candyce is away from work, she enjoys the outdoors and bowling. She has cats, two ferrets and wants to add a black Labrador Retriever to her family one day.

Melissa Willett
Veterinary Assistant

Melissa joined the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland in July of 2006. Prior to joining us, Melissa worked in emergency veterinary medicine for over two years and in general practice veterinary medicine for over 3 years. Melissa is currently studying to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and hopes to complete the program by early summer. Melissa shares her home in Portland with her husband Chris, her sons Taylor and Landon and their dog and cat.

Robi Lyons
Veterinary Assistant

Robi graduated from Apollo College in 2004 with a degree in Veterinary Assisting. She worked in emergency veterinary medicine until 2005. Robi worked in general practice for 2 years prior to joining the Veterinary Surgical Center in April of 2007 as our night nurse. Robi shares her home with her two sons, her dog Toby and two cats.

Laura Lafady
Veterinary Assistant

Laura graduated from Apollo College with a degree in Veterinary Assisting in 2006. Prior to joining the veterinary Surgical Center of Portland in August of 2007, Laura worked for a general practice veterinary hospital for 2 years. Laura shares her home in Milwaukie with her husband Robert and her two dogs, Homer and Jack.

Meg Canazaro
Receptionist

Meg joined the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland in 2005. Prior to joining us she worked in general practice veterinary medicine for over 3 years. Meg has lived in the Portland area most of her life and shares her home in Hillsboro with her husband, 3 cats and a dog. Meg and her husband welcomed twins Dominic and Gracin on August 9, 2007.

Renee Daniels
Receptionist


Renee joined the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland in July of 2007. Prior to joining our team Renee worked at a general pratice veterinary hospital for 3 years. Renee shares her home in Portland with her husband Bobby and her two English Bulldogs, Pig and Daisy.
