What to Expect

Initial Consultation
During your visit to Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland, the surgeon will review your pet's general medical record and any x-rays taken by your regular veterinarian. A thorough examination of your pet will be performed, and the results of the exam will be discussed. We may need to perform additional tests or x-rays to help give you the most accurate diagnosis. Then we will discuss the best treatment options for your pet.

To Make an Appointment
If your regular veterinarian has referred you to our office, please call to schedule an appointment. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm. A copy of the medical records and x-rays should be brought with you and your pet to your initial appointment. You may also request the information be sent to our office by your referring veterinarian. We ask that you please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork.

If Surgery is Needed
If surgery is indicated for your pet you may schedule an appointment following your initial appointment or call our office after you have discussed with the other members of your family. We require that you stop any food or water after 10:00pm the night prior to surgery. On the day of your pet's surgery we ask that you drop them off between the hours of 7:30am and 8:00am.
